OUR HISTORY

Rev. Oscar Lee Morgan, is the fourth of seven children born to Ernest and Elvira Morgan. He attended schools in Madison County. In 1949, he graduated from Kemp High School in Bryan, TX. He met the love of his life Ola Mae White, in Bryan. In 1952, they were joined together in holy matrimony, on Main Street, in Dallas, TX. To make ends meet the couple had to leave Dallas and return to Bryan, TX. They arrived in a 1942 model Chevrolet that broke down on them and prolonged their stay in Bryan. While in Bryan, three children were born, Jackie, Eva, and Vickey. They returned to Dallas in 1955, where eight other children were born Oscar Jr., Larry, Mae, George, Anthony Ray, Marie, Kenneth and Carvin. They lost their first son, Anthony Ray, in 1962.

Oscar accepted the Lord as his personal Savior at the age of 15 and in 1962, God called him to preach the gospel. He met and developed a lasting friendship with Eddie B. Lane and Willie O. Peterson. These three men established the Bibleway Bible Church and services were held in the home of Rev. Morgan. Rev. Eddie B. Lane served as pastor. While working a fulltime job, Rev. Morgan attended and graduated from the Southern Bible Institute in 1973. He was employed nine years at Dallas North Lumber Company, eight years at Willford Lumber Company and twenty-six years for LTV/Vought Corporation.

He served as an associate minister for Bibleway Bible Church, until being called to pastor the Twilight Baptist Church in Ferris, TX. He also served as pastor of Union Baptist Church in Bryan, TX and Wiley Chapel Baptist Church, in Dallas, TX.

In 1971, the Lord led Pastor Morgan to build a home for a wandering congregation. He purchased land at 3459 E. Overton Road where he built and established Ebenezer Missionary Bible Church, where he faithfully served as pastor until he retired in 2005. He now serves faithfully as Pastor Emeritus at the newly established Greater Ebenezer Missionary Bible Church.
